How can I create a profile?


After having downloaded the app from either the Google Play Store or the App Store you have 2 options to create a profile. This can be done by using your Facebook, or if you don’t have a Facebook account by continuing without Facebook with “Regular”. What is recommended is if you decide to continue with the option Regular to activate your email address, so you can always easily access your Shine profile afterwards.

How can I change my Shine profile?


For changing the information from your Shine profile you can go to the top right of the menu and go to “My Profile”, My Photo’s and My Interests to see and or edit your personal information.

How do I upload a profile picture?


Go to the top right of the screen and go to “My Photos”. From here tap the green button “Add Photo” and choose photo gallery to access the photos from your device, or Facebook to choose a picture from your Facebook account. Select the picture that you want to use and you are done.

How can I delete my profile?


For the deletion of your account you can contact us at contact@shinesocial.club.

What is the difference between logging in with Facebook and Regular?


By making use of Facebook for loging in you do not have to fill in the profile information and can continue immediately. Also, the Facebook option gives you the ability to login to your profile on multiple devices. Whereas, the Regular option provides you with the ability to login by filling in the information yourself. The function to login on more devices is not possible with the Regular option.

What is the best way to contact people on Shine?


We would recommend to fill in your complete profile and especially the “My Status”. This option lets others know what you would like to do, and people can contact you to do this activity together. If you would like to contact someone, feel free to send them a message.

Can I send a message to someone who is not my friend on Shine?


Yes, that is possible. Simply scroll down and select the member that you would like to send a message on Shine. After you have found his or her profile, tap on details and tap on message. Following a chatbox will appear and you can send a message.

How can I report someone/block an account?


Select the account that you would like to have reported/blocked and tap on “Block User” or “Report User”

Why doesn't the map load?


Try to refresh the map by going to another function in the app, and switch back to load the map again. If this doesn’t work it is recommended to close and reopen the app.

What do the icons on the map mean?


The map shows the activities in your area based on the location provided through the location service. The activities can be divided into three sub-categories: (Green) users with a suggested activity, (Blue) users without a suggested activity, and (Red) Events.

Why are some users 500km away from me?


There are two options. Either their device really are located 500km or more away from your device. Or it could be their locator on their device has been disabled. To make full use of the app, the location permission is used to indicate users on the map and at “People.”

How can I create my own events?


Go to the icon on the right top of the screen and press on the profile picture. From the menu that appeared tap on “Create Event” and fill in the information. After doing this, tap on save and you are done.

iOS / Apple

How do I give the Shine app access to my location on iOS?


Tap on the video here below for instruction on how to grant the Shine app access to the location of your iOS device:

1. Open “Settings”.
2. Tap on “Privacy”.
3. Ensure that Location Services is enabled.
4. Locate “Shine Social” in the list of apps.
5. Set location permissions for Shine Social to “When in Use”.

How can I receive notifications from Shine?


Go to your phone’s settings and tap on “Notifications” and you should see a list of all the apps installed on your device. Tap on the Shine Social icon and switch the notification setting on by swiping it right so that the bar is green.

Android / Google

How do I give the Shine app access to my location on Android?
