Volunteer
No one working at Shine Social Club gets any salaries or financial compensation. The two founders work free of charge and are supported by university interns and volunteers. We are continiously looking for extra pair of hands and any form of help & assistance is more than welcome. Any form of volunteering is helpful.
Mission
The founders mission is very brief: they aim to reduce loneliness amongst older adults with Shine Social Club.
Foundation Shine Social Club
In the Netherlands there is no official legal entity for social enterprises and therefore Shine Social Club organisation consists of a limited company and a non-profit foundation. The main goal is to reduce loneliness under the demographic of older adults.
The development and marketing of the free app are fully financed by the foundation. The aim is to keep the access of the app free for the users at all times. To finance this operation the organisation fully relies on external funding like subsidies and donations. The aim is to be completely financially independent within three years.
Volunteering
At Shine Social Club we are honored that from day one we have received assistance from volunteers. These are volunteers that belief in our mission and how we wish to tackle the problems of loneliness. In case you are considering volunteering, we are always looking for assistance. We are welcoming any form of volunteer work and here are a few examples of what volunteers have helped us with already:
– Help other uses to install the app and explain how to use the app.
– Organise events.
– Help with PR, Marketing and Social Media.
– Programmers whom help develop the app further.
– Fiscal & Legal advice.
– Volunteers that open up their network for us and forge strategic connections.
– Etc.

Remuneration policy
The board members do not receive any kind of remuneration for their activities at the foundation. Two of the foundation’s board members (Alon Ben Joseph and Jonathan Salomon) are also the board members and directors of the limited company, as they are the founders. The board members of the limited company do not receive any kind of remuneration for their activities either. The wish has been expressed to have the board members of the limited company to become employees of the company one day and receive salaries. Volunteers get remuneration for the expenses made.
